My name is Sarah BOUL LEFEUVRE, I am turning 23 in May, and I come from France. Before coming in the UK, I was studying in France: first of all I passed a BTS to become a PA (equiv HND) and that’s how I met Hazel and Eki Orleans Designs. Indeed, during those 2 years we have to do 2 internships, and one of them has to be abroad. For myself, both of them were abroad. Anyways, during my second year I went back to London to do my work placement with Eki Orleans. And this year, I am taking 2 Bachelor degrees in International Trade and Marketing, one in France and one in the UK, I spent 1 month in France and I came back to the UK to take the second part of my cursus: 4 month at Uni and 4 month working for a company, and once again I was willing to do it with Eki Orleans.
I really miss horse riding, I used to go there every weeks for the last 10 years, but as I am always travelling or busy studying I can’t really do that anymore. As a girl, I love going shopping with my frien myds, and being in London is not really helping on that point. Finally, more recently, I decided to go back to gym to get my “Summer Body” back and now I ended there every single day, it is really nice to work hard at the gym after a good day of work.
If I like London, no I LOVE London, I coming in London every year for the last 4 years because I can’t stand staying in France, that’s why I wanted to do both of my work placement here and that I applied for that unique Bachelor Degree in France, I couldn’t stay any longer far from here.
What do I prefer about London? Does it counts if I say everything? (Except the poor weather even if I am used to it in France). Honestly, I like to be busy and London is a busy town, I love the fact that nobody is juging you, people are really helpful and open-minded. That’s why I love London.
I am a versatille person, I want to touch every type of sectors. My first internship was with Swarovski, and I really enjoyed being around nice creations and nice pieces of jewellery, that’s when I understood I truly wanted to work for a luxury company rather than anything else. Then came fashion, well honestly I just felt in love with Eki Orleans’ creations, the quality of its products, the prints, the colors… So it is not really about fashion, it is more about the products I like rather than anything else.
The first internship I did with Eki Orleans, I learnt a lot about the fashion industry, how does it work, all the “backstage”. So I’ve been working on a book mainly, tracing Eki Orleans history since the begining of the brand. Then, this year, I am more working on promoting the brand: all the digital marketing (social medias, blog…), marketing strategies, I also did a shoot for the Valentines campaign (first time I wore an Eki dress, I was thrilled), working on the Mother’s day campaign, working on some advertisements really, and I do love what I do, I mean, I love the brand, Hazel, her creations… It couldn’t be better, I’m glad to do that internship here, it’s more than a normal internship, it’s passion and Hazel gave me her passion, and that’s how you get driven by your work and you wanna spread that passion to all the others, and I wish she / we will spread that passion all around the world.
Honestly, it depends on if I truly like the creations of a company or not. At the end of the day I see myself as a business woman, so I should be able to sell anything. Though, working in the fashion industry made me realise that I can’t sell something that I don’t like, I need to love the product to be able to make people love it the way I do. And working for Eki, also showed me that I like all the promoting part, creating things, because at the begining I wanted to work for the luxury car industry (Aston Martin, Mercedes Benz…) but now even if I still do like that, I feel like I would be more creative and more passionate about the luxury fashion industry.
I am an eclectic person, one day I would wear really sophisticated outfits, the next one I could walk out my house being very casual, and the next one mixing things up. I love so many things, but at the moment my favorite outfits would be my Levis short with a colorful printed top (though it is not summer so I will have to wait a bit more to be able to wear that).
